我的家乡在永福，它依山傍水，景色秀丽、神奇。是一座令人留连忘返的绿色小城，它还是福寿文化的发源地之一。

在永福的中央，有一座高大的山，名叫“凤巢山”，又名“凤山”。山上古木参天，苍翠葱茏，西江像一条玉带环绕着凤山。之所以叫凤巢山，是因为相传古时候有一对凤凰筑巢栖息在山中的梧桐树上，因此而得名。山顶上有个高87厘米、宽78厘米的掌书石刻的巨大“福”字。相传这个“福”字是武状元李珙用手掌所书。后来，人们就称这里为“永福”，意思是：永远幸福。在百寿，有一个岩洞叫夫子岩，又名百寿岩，岩中有一幅“百寿图”。它是由99个不同字体的“寿”字组成的一个大的“寿”字，希望这里的人们能百年长寿。所以，永福就变成了名副其实的“福寿之乡”。

凤山的北边是美丽的天凤广场，它位于西江河边。河堤上有倒垂的柳树。一阵风吹来，柳条随摆动，像一个个羞答答的小姑娘。河堤上有许多人在乘凉、聊天。广场四周有一幢幢高楼大厦，还有一排排整齐的别墅。晚上，广场上有很多人，有的人在跳健身舞，有的人在散步，还有的人在唱卡拉OK……；广场上有五光十色的彩灯：有的像烟花，有些会变颜色，一会儿蓝，一会儿绿……；还有许多体育器材，如：太空漫步机、双杠、秋千、摸高器等等。天凤广场不但是人们娱乐的地方，这里还举行多过桂林永福首届福寿节的开、闭幕式和千叟宴活动。

2006年10月28日，是桂林永福首届福寿节开幕式。我和妈妈来到广场，看见天空中飘着很多大红气球，一面面彩旗迎风招展，把永福县城装扮得更加美丽，到处洋溢着节日的气氛。在人山人海的街道上，人们有的在说说笑笑，有的在拍照，有的在布置广场……。“福寿节”的重头戏“千叟宴”活动开始了，“千叟宴”活动一共有1199位70岁以上的老人参加，由二百多张桌子摆成了一个大红“寿”字。从高处向下看，很壮观。“千叟宴”活动申请吉尼斯记录成功了，这是一个多么振奋人心的好消息啊！在这值得欢呼的一刻，上海大世界吉尼斯总部把奖颁给我县县长。这是永福县的一件大喜事，是每个永福人的骄傲！颁奖完毕后就开始文艺表演了，一个个精彩的表演使我开怀大笑。特别是“逛永福”这个节目。它是通过四位老人来到永福，看到各乡镇和县城的经济发展以及城镇的变化，使他们赞叹不已。节目非常形象、生动，把我们带入如诗如画的永福美丽画卷之中。表演滑稽、有趣，把全场的观众逗得捧腹大笑。
