Yujia Stone Villageis located in Jingxing County, Hebei Province, which was built in the reign periodof Chenghua, Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than five hundred years. It was the residence of a famous politician and national hero Yu Qian in Ming Dynasty and his descendants. Yu Qian , as the ancestor of Yu Family, compared himself as lime to express his unyieldingness. He would to leave good reputation in the world being crushed by the evil power rather than fawning to them.

于家石头村位于河北省井陉县，建于明朝成化年间，距今已有五百多年的历史。是明代著名政治家、民族英雄于谦后裔的居所。于家先祖、民族英雄于谦，曾以石灰为喻，表达自己坚贞不屈的节操，宁愿粉身碎骨，也要在人间留下清白的品格。

Yu Youdao, the son of Yu Qian, secretly moved into this wilderness mountains with family members for a living 500 years ago. They overcame many difficulties with their strong mind and resolution to settle down in Yujia Stone Village where was so desolate at that time.

500年前，因生活所迫，于谦之子于有道，携家眷秘密迁居于这旷野深山。当时这里荒无人烟，生活条件十分困乏，其族人以顽强的精神，艰苦创业，开拓生活。

Stones were used in building the houses, making the planting appliance and cooking utensils. The Yu Family developed into a whole village from a few households during which the stone played a very important role through the changes of years.

他们用石头搭房垒屋，造石具开荒种田，炊饮餐具全部用石头打凿而成。春风秋雨，世事沧桑，于家人在这里依漫山石头，开一方乡土，繁衍生息，由几户人家，发展到一个石头村落。

As a landmark building in the village, "Cool House", also named “Qingliang Ge” in Chinese, is located in the east entrance of village. This house was built in 9th year of Wanli reign period in Ming Dynasty (1581). According to the folk legend, it was designed and built all by a man with great strength named Yu Xichun. This building is featured that there is no foundation and no other construction materials. The walls and beams were all made only by the huge stones.

“清凉阁”是于家村的标志性建筑，坐落在于家村东口。此阁始建于明万历九年(1581年)，相传由力大无比的于喜春一人所建。这建筑的奇特之处在于：不打地基，不用辅料，一块石头一堵墙，一块石头一匹梁。

The stone－made “Cool House” is a masterpiece in aesthetics, mechanics, architecture, mathematics, geometry and physics. As well, it is a miracle of architectural history as one of the folk art treasures.

纵观整个清凉阁，累累巨石，集美学、力学、建筑学、数学、几何、物理学于一体，鬼斧神工，可谓建筑史上之奇迹，民间艺术之珍宝。

于家石头村的历史

于家石头村落是明代著名政治家、民族英雄于谦的后裔居所。500年前，于谦之子隐居井陉南峪村，留有三子：于有道、于东道、于南道兄弟三人。成化年间（约1486年）因生活所迫，于有道携家眷秘密迁居于这旷野深山隐居。于家人“与木石居，与鹿逐游”，后发展到一个石头村落。目前，这个石头村已有4000多口人，繁衍至今24代，村里人95％以上是于姓。
